Who Are You Following

Who are you following

We all are following someone. We all do what is right in our own eyes. Sometimes, what is right in our eyes is also what is right in the eyes of others. Sometimes, it is not right in the eyes of others. Sometimes, they can even convince you it is not right in your eyes. Then you try to change.

If your a Christian, like me, then you strive to have what is right in your eyes to be what is right in the eyes of the LORD. It is not always easy. There are lots of other voices out there calling you this way and that. Some are obviously contrary to JESUS and some sound like they could be giving you good Christian counsel. In the end, the only real test of what is right and wrong in the eyes of JESUS, is whether it lines up with the JESUS that is in the Bible.

As a Christian, it is my place to do the things JESUS said to do, the way HE said to do them. Operating in the plans and purposes of JESUS results in the additional power of GOD to succeed.

Doing things JESUS never said to do, or doing things in a way JESUS never said to, results in a flawed plan and the loss of the power of GOD behind you.

If you read the teachings of JESUS, the one thing you will never find is a suggestion that Christians try to rule the world. There is no hint of an idea of Christians trying to control the actions of other people. No mandate for taking over governments and using laws to bully people into submission to our way of life. Being a Christian is about self control, not controlling others.

In this war that Christians are waging with homosexuals, there is a whole lot of stuff being done in the name of JESUS that JESUS never said to do. If you advocate using government to force your religion on others, that is not from JESUS. If you choose to be hateful and aggressive towards homosexuals, that is not of JESUS.

So, here is the question:

If JESUS didn't say to do the things you are doing, or advocating being done, who are you following?
